Skinny Jeans
Tips
Skinny jeans have a way of staying in heart of fashion trends from the 50s to the 80s, and
they’re still going strong up through to this point. Many look at skinny jeans as the “Madonna” of the fashion
world, being able to reinvent its style through time. From the 50s, it was the look of Marlon Brando and Marilyn
Monroe. Then came the 70s, the rock and roll scene featured this look with the rock gods sporting them.
Disco fever during the 80s, and with the use of spandex, made the skinny jean ‘look’ common with both men and women
wearing tight pants tapered to the ankles. And now, as many fashion experts would say, Kate Moss brought the skinny
jeans look back again. They have been hot in the market since then, so you won’t have to worry about them losing
their popularity anytime soon.
Planning to have a pair of skinny jeans, but cannot figure out the perfect color? Of course, the colored ones,
particularly blue skinny jeans, are the most popular skinny of all time. The blue skinny jeans feature more
variations of the shades and styles including ice blue, light blue, dark blue, electric blue, distressed blue, navy
blue, royal blue, stonewashed or dyed blue; though the hottest thing lately is the bright blue skinny jeans.
The material used in most skinny jeans is usually cotton or denim, with varying percentages of spandex. This even
brought about a new coined term: the jeggings, meaning jean leggings, for women. Jeggings are usually soft stretch
and you can use them either as jeans or as leggings as the term suggests.
You can also choose between the skinny jeans and the ultra or super skinny jeans, which is difficult to pull off
for most. It is not really recommended for many of us to use the ultra or super skinny jeans due to its design and
purpose. Aside from the aesthetic side, wherein only those with skinny legs can probably rock these on, they can
also make you feel uncomfortable and may pose some health problems.
There are various styles out there that you can choose from; you can have the vintage style skinny jeans, the
studded ones with buttoned nailheads, the soft stretch jeggings, the skin tight jeans with elasticized waist, the
crafted skinny fits and the list goes on.
They also come in high waist, low waist or hipster forms. One important tip to remember when going out to
buy skinny jeans is to be sure that what
you have fits you. Though skinny jeans are designed to embrace your legs, too tight ones can offer discomfort
and trouble.
So, how do you wear them? For women, they are commonly tucked into boots or partnered with high or chunky heels.
Although during this summer, many are seen sporting them with ballerina flats or flip flops for a more casual look.
This look would be complete with simple, printed shirts. If you’re going for a more fab look, you can wear your
skinny jeans with more color for your top and use stiletto heels to stand out. You can wear a vested top or a
cardigan with this.
